Up until our departure for France, Erwin was treasurer of the Vajra Foundation. We would like continue to support this foundation and have therefore decided to donate € 1,= of each Les Camélias invoice to this foundation. In 2012 we got to a total of no less than 218 invoices, and therefore we donated € 218.

About the Vajra Foundation: The Vajra Foundation is an organisation which is contributing to the welfare of the poorest in Nepal through several projects. With the help of many volunteers, donors and sponsors the Vajra Foundation is able to build and finance hospitals, schools and water projects. The Vajra Foundation strives to have the projects run independently after their launch. The Vajra Foundation does not only offer real help, but also likes to contribute in the field of information provision about the problems in developing countries.

The renovation of our Puy Ferrand apartement was also ready for guests spending the Christmas holidays at Les Camélias. We have redecorated the bedroom of this apartment including soundproofing the walls and ceilings. The ceilings of the kitchen and bathroom have also been soundproofed.

We are currently busy redecorating the bedrooms of our Puy Ferrand and Puy de la Vache apartments including the soundproofing of the walls and ceilings. The ceilings of the attached kitchens will also be soundproofed.

The Les Camélias garden has been equipped with a wooden terrace of over 4 x 9 meters. With this terrace our guests can enjoy even more our garden with breathtaking views to the Puy de Sancy, Le Mont-Dore and the Dordogne valley.vallei..

We have recently added some more 'bicycle decorations' to our Puy de Dôme and Puy de Sancy apartments.

On August 28, we accompanied the presenter of a Dutch television program - GoCycling – on a mountain bike tour. The extremely varied route took us along the Cascade Queureuilh, the lake and the Col de Guéry, the Col de Saint Laurent, a downhill to Le Pessy and La Bourboule, a path along the Dordogne where almost the entire crew tried out and approved the Croizat hot spring!

Unfortunately, individual access for cyclists as was possible before the creation of the Panoramique des Dômes, will no longer be possible. However, as from 2013 special events for cyclists will be organised 2 or 3 times a year. Once the how, what and when of these events are known, they will published at this page and included in our calendar.

Not only our guests love to spend some time in the Les Camélias garden, these young blackbirds are also having a great time!

From Thursday July 26 up to Sunday July 29, the 2nd Mont-Dore Retro Rockin' festival will take place. For 4 days Le Mont-Dore will be in the devoted to Fifties rock 'n roll concerts which will be held in the open air and in the many bars and restaurants of Le Mont-Dore.

The GR30 "Tour des volcans et lacs d'Auvergne" goes around the Massif du Sancy and passes close to Le Mont-Dore. This video gives an impression of what hikers can expect near Les Camélias.

From June 16 until September 18 the sixth edition of Horizons - Rencontres "Arts Nature" takes place around the Sancy massif. The of itself already stunning landscape is during this period decorated by 11 art objects. Below a video made of last years Horizons exhibition.
