Although the ski slopes will remain open until 21 April included, the Les Camélias website is ready for summer: summer activities are shown more at the top of the menu, the winter logo has been replaced by our summer logo and winter pictures have been replaced by more sunny ones. And the calendar has also been updated with many different activities.

The video below - albeit with French commentary - shows very well what trail runners can expect at the Massif du Sancy. Attention is also paid to tour skiing.

During Easter weekend various activities will be organised in Le Mont-Dore especially for children.
Friday 18 April: town visit especially developed for children.
Saturday 19 April : painting on ice.
Monday 21 April: Easter egg hunt.

Because the ski slopes got yet again a fresh layer of snow, I post today a video about a female ski instructor who also loves to go off-piste.

This summer there will be again many different activities organised in Le Mont-Dore and direct surroundings. Most of them can be found in the calendar.

From Thursday 24 July up to Sunday 27 July, the 4th Mont-Dore Retro Rockin' festival will take place. For 4 days Le Mont-Dore will be in the devoted to Fifties rock 'n roll concerts which will be held in the open air and in the many bars and restaurants of Le Mont-Dore. We only have very limited availability left during this weekend.

As of Saturday 1 March up untill Saturday 8 March bars and restaurants of the Sancy Massif – but especially Le Mont-Dore – hosts many jazz concerts. More information on the 25th edition of the Sancy Snow Jazz Festival can be found on this website.

Our accommodation has again received the Family Plus label! We aim for a pleasant stay for the whole family. For children, we therefore have available: cot or children’s bed with linen, baby bath, high chair, board games. And our apartments are equipped with a microwave to heat baby food.

Up until our departure for France, Erwin was treasurer of the Vajra Foundation. We would like continue to support this foundation and have therefore decided to donate € 1,= of each Les Camélias invoice to this foundation. In 2013 we got to a total of no less than 264 invoices, and therefore we have recently donated € 264.

About the Vajra Foundation: The Vajra Foundation is an organisation which is contributing to the welfare of the poorest in Nepal through several projects. With the help of many volunteers, donors and sponsors the Vajra Foundation is able to build and finance hospitals, schools and water projects. A new app with walks in the Auvergne region. Walks can be selected via different criteria:

• Kind of walk
• Theme: volcanism, forest, countryside, water, cultural heritage, etc.
• Length
• Meters of climbing

You can also look for a walk close to where you are.

As a result of its location at 1,050 metres above sea level Le Mont-Dore is for French people a well known spa town. In the thermal baths of Le Mont-Dore treatments for rheumatism and respiratory are carried out as a result of a medical referral.

The spa can also be used without a medical referral with various possibilities to use the different thermal baths and showers.
