There are many great events this spring and summer near Les Camélias: road bike and MTB rides, runs, hikes, but also a competition for pedal cars in the streets of Le Mont-Dore and of course the passing through of the Tour de France on July 10. More information can be found in our calendar.

It has snowed heavily in recent days, it is snowing at the moment and there is more snow expected. Excellent circumstances to spend the Easter weekend at Les Camelias in Le Mont-Dore and to go skiing on the Sancy vulcano.

On July 10 the Tour passes in front of Les Camélias! The cyclists will climb the Col de la Croix Morand which happens to be the Les Camélias Climb Time Trial. The finish is later that day in nearby Super-Besse.

A fair amount of fresh snow has fallen. Great timing for the upcoming holiday period. A few apartments are still available; fast reservation is advisable.

Erwin and Margriet wish everybody a fantastic 2008! The year started very well in Le Mont-Dore; on January 1st Erwin did cycle the first kilometers of 2008 and did Margriet explore the ski slopes.

It has been snowing the last couple of days and it looks like that the ski areas of Le Mont-Dore and Super-Besse will open this Friday (December 14th).

The English version of the website is now also available. English speaking visitors will enter directly on the English pages while Dutch speaking visitors will be guided directly to the Dutch pages. Behind the scenes we are currently also working on a French version.

By clicking on a picture on top of the web page a larger version of the picture will be displayed. Apart from this; because of the high temperatures over de last couple of days the first snow of the season has unfortunately gone.

On November 14 the first snow of this years winter sports season fell. About 3 inches in the village and 18 inches on the Puy de Sancy. Let’s hope there will be more snow in the next couple of weeks so the ski runs can open on December 1st.
