The kitchen of our Puy de Sancy apartment has in recent weeks also been repainted.

The kitchen of our Puy de Dôme apartment has in recent weeks been repainted and got a cyclist accommodation worthy decoration.

Had an inspection today of the apartments and we are proud: our Puy de l'Angle apartment has received a 3 star rating.

The Les Camélias website is ready for summer; summer activities are shown more at the top of the menu, the winter logo has been replaced by our summer logo and winter pictures have been replaced by more sunny ones.

In September 2011 a group of cyclists of the ING Cycling Club from Arnhem did stay at Les Camélias. PJ Films made a beautiful movie of their stay.

The renovation of our Puy de l'Angle apartment is completed. The first guests have already spent a weekend in the apartment.

The apartment now has a living area containing the kitchen with bar and a seating area with sofa bed. Furthermore, a mezzanine that can sleep 2 persons and a nice bathroom.

Up until our departure for France, Erwin was treasurer of the Vajra Foundation. We would like continue to support this foundation and have therefore decided to donate € 1,= of each Les Camélias invoice to this foundation. In 2011 we got to a total of 146 invoices, and therefore we donated today € 146.

About the Vajra Foundation: The Vajra Foundation is an organisation which is contributing to the welfare of the poorest in Nepal through several projects. With the help of many volunteers, donors and sponsors the Vajra Foundation is able to build and finance hospitals, schools and water projects. The Vajra Foundation strives to have the projects run independently after their launch. The Vajra Foundation does not only offer real help, but also likes to contribute in the field of information provision about the problems in developing countries.

Although we are still busy with the renovation of the Puy de l'Angle apartment there is also time for relaxation. We walked the Route des Crêtes, a trail along the ridge between the Col de la Croix Morand and the Col de la Croix Saint Robert. On the Les Camélias Facebook page we have uploaded some pictures.

After the renovation of the kitchen of our Puy de Baladou apartment, there turned out to be too little cupboard space. We therefore now have fitted the kitchen with extra kitchen cupboards.

Les Camélias is ready for the holiday season! We have also updated the calendar on our website.

We are currently busy with the renovation of our Puy de l'Angle apartment. On the Les Camélias Facebook page we have uploaded some pictures of the progress of this renovation.

This former modest apartment for maximum 2 persons is being converted into a nice apartments for maximum 4 persons. There will be a double bed (or 2 single beds) on the mezzanine. There will also be a sofa bed with a good quality mattress (140 x 200 cms) in the kitchen/living area.

Normally this apartment will again be available as from the February holidays.

Although it does not really feel like winter at the moment, our travel information is ready for winter. There is a link to a website where you can see how the road conditions in the Sancy Massif area are.

Our accommodation has received the Family Plus label! We aim for a pleasant stay for the whole family. For children, we therefore have available: cot or children’s bed with linen, baby bath, high chair, board games, pencils/paper, a wooden toy train. And our apartments are equipped with a microwave to heat baby food.

Because of the new chairlift at the lower slopes area of Les Longes a new pistemap has been created. The chairlift replaces 3 drag lifts. It is a 4-seater chairlift with a carpet for easier boarding with a capacity of 1,800 persons/hour. There will also be an increase of the number of snow cannons on lower slopes and at the Pan de la Grange-descent (the "blue" path).

We have started with the renovation of our Puy de l'Angle apartment. This modest apartment for 2 persons is being converted into a fully equipped apartment for a maximum of 4 persons. We are creating a bedroom for 2 persons in the attic. And the bathroom will get a just a nice shower as our Puy Ferrand and Puy de la Vache apartments.

During the first week of the Christmas holidays one can opt for (group) ski lessons from Sunday, December 18 until Friday, December 23 or from Monday, December 19 until Saturday, December 24. In the second week of the Christmas holidays the lessons are from Sunday, December 25 until Friday, December 30.

As of November 15, the ski lessons booked online.

If you are staying with us for a minimum of two nights during the 2011/2012 New Year weekend, we offer you the night of Sunday January 1 to Monday January 2 at half price.

We are currently enjoying a wonderful late summer. Pleasant temperatures combined with beautiful autumn colors.



An excellent time to go hiking or cyling. Or for example, to go searching for mushrooms.

The first participants of our road bike tour are on their way. As from this spring, we offer a bike tour with luggage transport. During this 6 stages trip participants cycle through three middle mountain areas: the Massif du Sancy, the Livradois-Forez and the Cantal.

The climbs go up to 1589 meters. The altitude difference to overcome is on average 300 to 400 meters but can go up to 700 meters. This all seems not so hard, but one must take into account the fact that there no meter of flat roads in this trip!

Using our new Garmin Edge 800 GPS the Les Camélias guests will find their way easily around the Sancy massif. Ideal for hiking and mountain biking.
