In September Le Mont-Dore will be hosting the French National Trail Run championships. This video shows the reconnaissance of the race-course on tour skis. And even if you do not understand French the video is worthwhile watching; the images speak for themselves.

March is a great month for planning your 2015 cycling trips. Maybe our road cyling round trip is just what you are looking for.

During this cycling holiday you will cycle in 5 or 6 stages through 3 different middle mountain ranges; the Massif du Sancy, the Livradois-Forez and the Cantal. The climbs will go up to 1.589 meter. On average the climbs will bridge between 300 and 400 meters but this can go up to 700 meters on a few occasions. This might not seem to strenuous, but it should be taken into account that you will not encounter many flat stretches of road during this cycling trip.

To allow everyone to cycle on his / her own level, we have (at least) five routes of different levels per stage. It is possible to change your level each day and, if necessary, you might even be able to switch levels during the stage itself. Mountain stages and less intense stages alternate.

Together with Livia van Eijlle of Le Relais de Voissieres we organise self-guided walking holidays where flexibility is paramount. For example, one can choose from:

• the number of days
• the start date
• the daily distances
• rest days or no rest days – for which you yourself can choose the location. You yourself can decide what to do on this rest day: a stroll, lounge about or another activity
• with or without luggage transport

Skiers might not always be aware that thanks of the early work of all the staff, they can safely take full advantage of the ski slopes.

Saturday 26 September: La Dorée 100% feminine (for & by women) 12,5 kms and the Chemin des Crêtes 18 kms.
Sunday 27 September: the Trail du Sancy 34 kms and the Grand Trail du Sancy 60 kms. These 2 races will be the French Trail Run Championships, but registration is possible for everybody!

Registration starts early April.

Derby de Mont-Dore is an off-piste race. Departure from the cable car station. Descent via the crevasses to the finish. In the video below images of the 2014 Derby as seen by participants. Next edition: 7 and 8 March 2015!

The renovation of our Puy de Sancy and Puy de Dôme apartments is finished! The kitchen areas have been enlarged and equipped with new, modern kitchens and the apartments are now also soundproofed.

In a breathtaking way the video below shows the transition from autumn to winter in the beautiful landscape of the Massif du Sancy.

During the French February-March holiday we only have very limited availability left: only our Puy de Dôme apartment is still available from 26 up to 28 Februay.

During the Christmas holidays Les Camélias has no more availability left.

Due to a cancellation our Puy de l'Angle studio is again available from 19 up to 24 December.

During the French February-March holiday we only have limited availability left:

- apartment Puy de l'Angle: from 14 up to 23 February

Les Camélias is ready for winter; we have updated the calendar on our website. Not only for the winter period; we have also already added many summer events.

The video below shows that the Sancy Massif offers more than skiing and snowboarding in winter time. It also has many kilometers of cross country ski circuits and signposted snow shoe routes. You can also go for a sledge dog ride or do the 1.600 meter long zip wire at Super-Besse which is also open during winter.

During the Christmas holiday we do not have any availability left but we still have some availability during the February holiday.

During the Christmas holidays we have no availability left: only our apartment Puy de la Vache is still available until December 21.
